Museum of London
The Museum of London documents the history of our capital city from its earliest settlements all the way through to the present day. Displays include many diverse artefacts from different time periods that have along with reconstructed interiors and street scenes. The Museum's post 1666 displays are currently going through a period of redevelopment, but the early galleries remain open. Look out for additional topical exhibitions during this time.
The building itself is also on the site of part of the London Wall, which was built by the Romans to defend their settlement of Londinium. Some of the wall is still visible in the grounds of the museum.
