Ingrebourne River
The Ingrebourne River rises in Essex and runs for 27 miles towards the Thames. The valley has nationally important freshwater marshes at its lower reaches, and along the way runs through woodlands, grasslands and areas of fen. Numerous and various birds can be seen in the valley, from warblers to tufted duck and kingfisher to long eared owl. Four bats species are known to be present here and water voles, which are specially protected, are also found in the area. Hornchurch Country Park is on this part of the route.
