Hampton Court and Bushy Park

Hampton Court and Bushy Park were once part of the vast grounds of Cardinal Wolsey's grand estate, which was later given to Henry VIII along with the famous Palace.

Today, Hampton Court Palace is a popular tourist attraction and Bushy Park is one of the Royal Parks, with over a thousand acres of land. It is home to 320 deer that graze on the grasslands. There are also ponds, tree plantations and conservation areas. The history of Bushy Park actually goes back long before its use as a Tudor hunting ground; Bronze Age artefacts from a burial mound at the site are now housed by the British Museum.
